City parks undergo changes

The fences are coming down all over town.
“We are cleaning up all the old ball parks,” Eunice Recreation Director George Schneider said. “We are doing some stuff in every park in town including the Gourney Addition and the Fairgrounds parks.”
Schneider said they are also removing some fences around the playground area at Southeast Park.
“There are people that think the parks are closing,” the director said. “All we are doing is cleaning everything up become it is a safety issue as some of those fences are over 60 years old.
“No parks are closing,” he said.
