Former test pilot
ERATH – Services for former Air Force test pilot Eddie Shiner are Aug. 18. He died Aug. 14 at age 84.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and afterward continued his tour of duty at Edwards AFB, Calif., where he flew with pilots such as Chuck Yeager and Deak Slayton. He operated a vegetable plant nursery.
Survivors include his wife Judy, two sons and a daughter.
Arrangements are by David.

Teacher, coach
MAURICE – Services for noted educator and coach Ronald Broussard will be Aug. 19. He died Aug. 15 at age 76.
He was a teacher and coach in Vermilion and Lafayette Parishes for more than 30 years. He was named Louisiana Basketball Coach of the Year in 1984.
Survivors include his wife Gloria and three sons.
Arrangements are by Vincent, Abbeville.

Former juror
CLINTON – Services for former East Feliciana Police Juror Karl “Bubba” Chaney will be Aug. 18. He died Aug. 15 at age 52.
He served 12 years as the District 6 juror and was a safety manager with CB&I.
Survivors include his wife Anita and two children.
Arrangements are by Charlet.

Decorated SEAL
PORT ALLEN – Services for decorated former SEAL Michael “Spider” Coleman are Aug. 18. He died Aug. 13 at age 64.
He was a U.S. Marines SEAL veteran of the Vietnam War, who held the Navy Cross with Combat V, the Silver Star and the Bronze Star and three times turned down the Purple Heart after wounds in action. He formerly owned the San Souci Night Club and later owned Kountry Korner Grocery.
Survivors include his wife Marion, three children and his mother.
Arrangements are by Wilbert.

Daylily expert
PRAIRIEVILLE – Services for educator and daylily expert Clarence Crochet will be Aug. 18. He died Aug. 11 at age 89.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a teacher and former assistant principal at Dutchtown Elementary. He was former president of the American Hemerocallis (Daylily) Society.
Survivors include several children.
Arrangements are by Ourso.

Three-war nurse
HAMMOND – Services for three-war veteran retired Lt. Col. Genevieve Harrold will be Aug. 30. She died Aug. 11 at age 94.
She was a U.S. Army Nurse Corps and later Air Force veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a brother and several sisters.
