Insurance exec, banker
HOMER – Services will be Oct. 25 for insurance executive and banker Charles Kendrick. He died Oct. 18 at age 90.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II’s Pacific theater. He owned an insurance agency, was president of ARK Enterprises and Insurance Consultants, Inc. and was director and vice chairman of the board of Homer National Bank.
Survivors include his wife Lillian and three children.
Arrangements are by Rose-Neath, Shreveport.
Amateur archaeologist
SHREVEPORT – Services for noted amateur archaeologist Claude McCrocklin will be Oct. 23. He died Oct. 18 at age 93.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was a prisoner of Germany after being shot down in April 1944. He held three Bronze Stars. After retirement, he took up archaeology as a hobby and recorded more than 600 archaeological sites in Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas.
Survivors include a son.
Arrangements are by Osborn.
Former judge
COUSHATTA – Services for former district judge John Stephens will be Oct. 24. He died Oct. 20 at age 83.
He formerly served as judge of the 39th Judicial District and was an assistant district attorney for Red River and Natchitoches Parishes. He practiced law here and in Shreveport.
Survivors include two daughters.
Arrangements are by Rose-Neath, Shreveport.
Opera exec
METAIRIE – Arrangements for opera executive George “Alan” Rusnak are pending. He died Oct. 16 at age 51.
He had been resident scenic designer, technical director and scenic studio manager of the New Orleans Opera Association since 1995.
Survivors include his wife Sandra, a daughter and his parents.
Arrangements are by Leitz-Eagan.
Truck leasing exec
SHREVEPORT – Services for trucking executive Russell Peterson will be Oct. 24. He died Oct. 18 at age 85.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and owner of Peterson Leasing Company, which leased trucks all over North Louisiana. He was a founding member of East Ridge Country Club.
Survivors include three sons and several step-children.
