ABBEVILLE – Services for former UL Lafayette basketball player and oilfield contractor Roy Young, Sr. will be Thursday. He died June 22 at age 86.
To borrow a bit his lyric-- Jimmy C. Newman was the “top gator man” until he died.
The Mamou native and long-time Grand Ole Opry star died Saturday in Nashville, Tenn. He was 87.
According to a press release, services will be Wednesday.
Geraldine Caswell Andrepont died on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Acadian Medical Center. She was 69. A Celebration of Life was held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice with Deacon David Guillory officiating.

BATON ROUGE – Services for former Notre Dame and LSU football and baseball player Gerald “Jerry" Marchand will be June 24. He died June 20 at age 83.
Edward James Lejeune died on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the age of 75.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata. Father Joe Tran will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
