Blue Jays cruise past Cougars

The St. Edmund Blue Jays extended their winning streak to three games with a double header, mercy-rule sweep over Pointe Coupee Central on Tuesday.
On Saturday, the Blue Jays (8-10, 2-1) rolled to a 8-1 win at Mamou.
St. Edmund grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Alex Hunt reached on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Drew Brown.
The Blue Jays added two more runs in the top of the third when Gibson LaFleur reached on an error and Hunt followed with a double and both scored.
St. Edmund sealed the win with four runs in the seventh on a two-run double by Brown, an RBI double by Christian Walker, and an RBI single by Kramer Rozas.
Brown finished with five RBI on two hits for the Blue Jays.
Kramer Rozas earned the complete-game win as he struck out seven, allowing one earned run on four hits and three walks over seven innings.

Fuselier took the loss for Mamou. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
After cruising to a 25-0 win in Tuesday’s opener, the Blue Jays capped the District 5-1A doubleheader with a 17-1 win over the Cougars.
Hunt earned the win in the first game, while Drake Dubois won the second game.
The Blue Jays scored two runs in the first when Gibson LaFleur was hit by a pitch and crossed home plate on a triple by Hunt.
Hunt then scored on a passed ball for a 2-0 advamtage.
St. Edmund added three more runs in the second inning begun when Cole Bergeron walked and scored when Austin Sittig reached on an fielding error.
Brown doubled and scored on a triple by Christian Walker.
The Blue Jays put the game away when 18 batters pushed across 12 hits in the third inning.
PCC avoided the shutout in the third when Raekwon Powell walked and scored on a Blue Jay error.
Bergeron led the Blue Jays with a 2-for-2 performance with a walk, three runs scored and four RBI.
Brown went 2-for-2 with a double, triple and two runs scored as he was also was hit by a pitch and reached on a walk.
The Blue Jays travel to False River Academy on Friday before facing Westminster Christian Academy on Saturday.
