Lady Cats grab fourth straight district title

CROWLEY – It is something they can be proud of as the senior Lady Cats never lost a district meet.
It was a great run for the Eunice girls track team as the Lady Cats earned their fourth straight district title Tuesday at the Crowley High athletic complex.
Eunice High has now won seven district titles under the leadership of head coach Durell Peloquin.
The top four finishers advance to the regionals to held be at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette on Wednesday.
Eunice won the district title with 142 points followed by Beau Chene (97). Opelousas (86), Washington-Marion (75), LaGrange (61), Rayne (54) and Crowley (37).
Eunice High’s Beuhla Bradley won the 100 meters with a time of 13.09.
Kiara White won the 200 meters with a time of 26.75.
Dashaya Vigers won the javelin with a toss of 110-3.
Jyrieh Johnson, Timia Thomas, Hannah Jack and Bradley won the 4x100 relay with a time of 51.47.
Johnson, Kiara White, Jack and Bradley also won the 4x200 relay with a 1:46.77 finish.
J. Johnson, K. White, Saja Chevis and Clea Fransaw won the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:25.15.
Fransaw finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:04.36.
Madison Guillory finished second in the discus with a throw of 92-10.
In the high jump, Hali Jack finished second (5-2) followed by Lady Cat Robbi Palmer (4-10).
Shelbie Cormier finished second in the pole vault (7-6), followed by team mate Katelyn Guillory (6-6).
Saja Chevis finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:06.05.
Shantella Gallow finished third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:50.43.
Celeste Cormier finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.24.
Outstanding Track Performer was Beau Chene’s Bailee Olivier.
Helena Tibbs from Beau Chene earned Outstanding Field Performer honors.
Crowley won the boys district title with 116 points, followed by Opelousas (107), LaGrange (97), Beau Chene (78), Washington Marion (74), Eunice (66) and Rayne (17).
Eunice High’s Cole Prudhomme won the shot put with a toss of 50-9.
Lucas Deculus won the javelin with a throw of 167-11.
Caleb Smith finished third in the pole vault at 10-0.
Jordan Victorian finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 6-2.
Ethan Briscoe finished fourth in the 3,200 meters with a time of 11:42.31.
Bryce Pavich finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.95.
Pavich also finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.27.
Eunice finished fourth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 45.30.
Outstanding Track Performer was Collins Roberts from OHS.
Outstanding Field Performer was Washington-Marion’s Chris Edwards.
