OPELOUSAS – The St. Landry Parish jamboree has been around for 19 seasons.
Eunice head football coach Paul Trosclair has been a part of every contest since that first jamboree held at Bobcat Stadium on 1997.
In the annual preseason ritual to kick the Bengals’ athletic year, the LSU Eunice athletes rejoined teammates to get cleared for competition.
A group of medical professionals screened the athletes Wednesday night at Rehab Xcel.
CHURCH POINT – Some programs would be happy with an 8-4 finish and earning a playoff spot.
But Church Point finished third in District 5-3A behind Eunice and Northwest and head coach J. C. Arcenaux is hoping to battle the Bobcats for the district title this season.
The recent floods and rains that followed has forced some changes to the high school scrimmages set for this week.
St. Edmund’s scrimmage with Elton was originally set for today at Blue Jay Field.
The scrimmage has been moved to 6 p.m. Friday in Elton.
The lineup for the 10th annual Eunice High Alumni softball tournament has been set with 29 teams.
The tournament begins at 6 p.m. Friday at the Eunice Recreation Complex on Sittig Road.
The Rookie League is divided into two groups.
