Back to school

As school starts this week, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot offered safety advice at Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen’s meeting.
But just in case people are inclined to ignore the advice, Fontenot reminded motorists police are watching.

Blue Jays were state runners-up

The Blue Jays had lost five straight games heading into the Class 1-A baseball playoffs.
St. Edmund then won four in a row to advance to the state championship game.
The Blue Jays’ dream season ended with a 12-0 loss to Ouachita Christian.

2015 Crawfish Bowl champions

The fifth- and sixth-grade St. Edmund Blue Jay football team recently won Acadiana Christian Athletic Association’s 2015 Crawfish Bowl Championship.

St. Edmund Catholic School held its Class Night ceremony May 21.
Senior Paige Duplechin led the Passing of the Candle.
According to St. Edmund tradition, “Each year the passing of the candle plays a very important part in our ceremony.
