Baker teen allegedly kills three others at birthday party

A 16-year-old is charged with killed three other teens at a birthday party Friday night.
Since he is under 18, he is not eligible, should he be convicted, for capital punishment, based on Supreme Court rulings.
Because the alleged assailant is a minor, his name had not yet been revealed.
The killings occurred at a private birthdayturn up party at the Baker Civic Club, a privately owned and operated facility.
A female and two males were killed and a third male teen injured.
The shootings happened, police said, around 11 p.m. when a group of teens started dancing and an altercation ensued.
Those shot were not believed to be part of the altercation.
“The paid-access private party had a lot of DJs and a lot of rappers there, they were putting on a show,” a police spokesman said.
In total, there were about 50 to 100 guests, a few parent chaperones and two individuals acting as security guards.
The security guards were not from a security firm and they were not off-duty police officers.
The police chief said, “If we had been hired to work security there, we would have had four officers on duty, two inside and two outside,” said Chief Knaps.
