Former St. Mary councilman dies in crash

Investigation continues into the crash that killed a former St. Mary Parish councilman.
State Police said Chuck Rogers, 60, of New Iberia was found dead in his overturned car by a farmer on Friday.
 According to investigating troopers, Rogers, who was alos a former sports editor of the Banner-Tribune, had been traveling south on La. 87 near La. 70 between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. when  for unknown reasons his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road in a curve, entered a water-filled coulee  
Rogers, a native of Franklin, served on the St. Mary Parish Council, 1988-1991.
