Jackson: Will run for attorney general.

Attorney Isaac “Ike” Jackson, Jr. announced Sunday that he intends to qualify for election to the statewide office of Attorney General during the 2015 gubernatorial primary.
A 1989 graduate of Southern University Law Center, Jackson retired from his position as General Counsel at the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in July of 2013, having served previously as Chief of the Lands and Natural Resources Section at the Louisiana Department of Justice.
He began his state government career in 1995 at the DNR, where he was the Senior Attorney with primary responsibility for State Mineral Board matters.
Prior to that, Jackson worked for many years at the Exxon Refinery in Baton Rouge, clerked at Exxon’s headquarters in Houston, and was a law clerk or associate at several prominent law firms in New Orleans. He is also a long-time member of the Louisiana Mineral Law Institute,
