VW slams into back of truck on I-20, driver killed

A woman killed in a Tuesday i crash here has been identified as Lauri Janae Miller, 43, of Sibley.
She died after her Volkswagen Beetle slammed into the back of a tractor trailer hauling utility poles about 2 p.m.
It happened on I-20 just east of Industrial Drive. According to witnesses, the VW Bug was traveling in the inside lane as traffic began slowing down just as police were clearing the scene of a motor vehicle accident further ahead on I-20 westbound at Industrial Drive. Witnesses say the VW Bug came up behind an 18-wheeler in the inside lane, swerved around it and then rear ended the tractor trailer in the outside lane.
An on scene inspection by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety determined the tractor trailer rig was in compliance with safety regulations
