Andrus, Marcantel wed during July evening ceremony

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Eunice was the setting for the evening ceremony uniting Leah Christine Andrus and Seth Paul Marcantel in Holy Matrimony.
The ceremony was held on Friday, July 15, at 7 p.m. with the Reverend Tom Voorhies officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Tom and Rachel Andrus of Eunice, and the groom is the son of Jacob and Annette Fontenot of Eunice and the late Mechelle Fontenot.
Grandparents of the bride are Leona Berken Smailhall of Welsh, the late Herman Berken and the late Barney and Addie Andrus.
Grandparents of the groom are Delano and Linda Marcantel, Valley and Maggie Vidrine, and Chester and Mary Fontenot, all of Eunice.
Organist for the ceremony was Kay Frances Dugruise, cousin of the bride. Vocalists were Ione Broussard, Constance Darbonne, Darren Habetz, and Chad Habetz.
The bride, given away by her father, was radiant in an ivory lace and tulle slim-line gown with a V-neckline and cap-sleeves that featured a separate light gold underlay dreamy slip gown of Vogue satin worn below.
The alluring open-back of the gown was finished with a covered button-over-zipper closure. Her headpiece was an ivory cathedral-length veil adorned with lace along the edges.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of antique-blue hydrangeas, white O’Hara garden roses, white ranunculus, Dusty Miller, seeded eucalyptus adorned with Queen Anne’s lace.
Serving as maid of honor was Lainey Fontenot of Eunice, sister of the groom. Serving as matron of honor was Erica Zaunbrecher of Elton, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Kaitlynn Marcantel of Eunice, sister of the groom; Caroline Frey of Eunice, Britnee LeJeune of Egan, Emily Trahan of Kaplan, all friends of the bride; BreAnna Gautreau of Houston, cousin of the bride; Hanna Slater of Houston, cousin of the bride; and junior bridesmaid was Regan Fontenot of Eunice, sister of the groom.
The attendants wore topaz-colored A-line full length lux chiffon dresses with surplice blouson overlay over an ivory lace bodice. They carried hand held bouquets of Antique-blue hydrangea collared with lemon leaf wrapped with a double-faced satin stone ribbon.
Serving as flower girl was Ellie Caesar, daughter of Katelynn Marcantel and Veneric Caesar.
Serving as best man was Thomas Marcantel of Alexandria, uncle of the groom.
Groomsmen were Michael Cobb of Church Point, Patrick Bellard of Oklahoma, both friends of the groom; Kolbi Jones of Eunice, friend of the groom; Josh Andrus and Heath Andrus of Eunice, brothers of the bride; Heath Leonards of Richard, friend of the groom; Alex Marcantel of Eunice, cousin of the groom; and junior groomsman was Nathan Zaunbrecher of Elton, godchild of the bride.
Serving as ring bearer was Scott Thomas Zaunbrecher, nephew of the bride, son of Wayne and Erica Zaunbrecher of Elton.
Ushers for the ceremony were Carter Andrus of Eunice, nephew of the bride; Zachary Stevens of Houston, cousin of the bride; Jacob Jurls of Scott, friend of the groom; and Cade Fontenot of New Orleans, brother of the groom.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Mamou City Civic Center.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Aruba and have made their home in Eunice.
The bride is a graduate of St. Edmund High School, LSU Eunice, and Nicholl’s State University. She is currently employed as a teacher and softball coach at Iota High School.
The groom is a graduate of Eunice High School, and LSU Eunice, and is employed with Full Service Maintenance.
