Bertrand, Frey exchange vows during afternoon ceremony

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota served as the setting for the afernoon double-ring Nuptial Mass ceremony uniting Lacey Dawn Bertrand and Brandon Joseph Frey in Holy Matrimony.
The ceremony was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 with Fr. Jude Thierry Jr. officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dave “Joe” and Rhonda Bertrand of Evangeline and the groom is the son of Francis and Germaine Frey of Iota.
Musicians and vocalists during the ceremony included Tonia Bertrand, cousin of the groom and friend of couple; and Angella Callahan, friend of the couple.
Church Lectors were Anne Ritter, the groom’s godmother and aunt; and Melanie Broussard, cousin of the groom.
Church greeters included Charley Bieber, cousin of the groom; and Camille Bieber, godchild and cousin of the groom.
Ushers were Mike Miller of Iota, friend of the groom; and Chad Bertrand of Evangeline, cousin of the bride.
The bride, given away by her father, was stunning in a white strapless chiffon A-line gown with side-draped bodice accented with beaded lace. The gown featured a laced-up backing and sweep-train.
The bride wore a scrolled tiara pearl clustered and Swarovski crystals headpiece with a two-tiered elbow-length tulle veil edged with delicate pearls, beads and sequins.
She wore a necklace and earrings to match her headpiece.
She carried a hand-held bouquet of red roses, white pearls, and silk ribbons with a diamond cross pendant entertwined inside the bouquet.
Serving as Matron of Honor was Jessica Gotte of Jennings, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were Monica Willis and Misty Hearod of Evangeline, cousins of the bride.
The attendants wore apple red floor length halter style dresses accented with a gathered waistline and cascading side of soft pleating. The Matron of Honor carried a tulle bouquet of white and red miniature rosebuds and the attendants carried matching tulle bouquets of white rosebuds.
Serving as flower girl was Jhayden Gotte of Jennings, godchild and niece of the bride.
Ring bearer was Cole Broussard of Iota, cousin of the groom.
Best man was Derrick Frey of Iota, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jason Frey, and Blaise Frey, both of Iota, brothers of the groom.
The groom wore a classic black tuxedo with a matching white vest and tie and the groomsmen wore black classic tuxedos with matching red vests and ties.
A reception was held at the KC Hall in Crowley immediately following the ceremony.
The bride is a graduate of Iota High School and Louisiana State University Eunice where she earned a degree in Business Management. She is employed at the The Bank in Jennings.
The groom is a graduate of Iota High School and Louisiana State University Eunice where he earned a degree in Business Management. He is currently employed by LSU Ag-Rice Research Station.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to northern Arkansas and Missouri and have made their home in Iota.
