The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office reported an emergency landing of a crop duster on Wednesday in the Lyon Point area of Acadia Parish. No injuries were reported. Acadia Parish deputies and local fire departments responded. The name of the pilot and other details were not released.
A 20-year-old Church Point man, Raymond L. Celestine IV of East Ebby Street, is accused of shooting Anthony Citizen, 32, also of Church Point, multiple times shortly after midnight Sunday, according to a news release from Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon.
Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon announced that agents with Acadia Parish Narcotics Task Force report the following recent arrests:
A $500 scholarship for a St. Landry and Acadia parish high school graduating senior is available through the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz and Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon announced the scholarship.
