Barbara Odom, nursing educator

Funeral services for Barbara W. Odom, founder of the nursing program at LSU Alexandria and the former dean of nursing there, will be Saturday, Jan. 2, in Lecompte. She died Dec. 30 at age 85.

Ms. Odom was also former Director of Nursing at Mississippi School, Jackson, Miss., and Lilly Jolly School of Nursing, Memorial Baptist Hospital, Houston, Texas.

She was a member of LA State Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association and was president of the LA State Board of Nurses for many years. She also formerly worked for the National League for Nursing in New York City.

Survivors include a brother and a sister.
