ULM awards diplomas to fall 2008 graduates
MONROE - Diplomas will be awarded to 404 students during the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s fall commencement exercises to be held at 2 p.m. December 13, in Fant-Ewing Coliseum on campus.
ULM President James E. Cofer Sr. will confer degrees and award diplomas. Randy Moffett, president of the University of Louisiana System, will deliver the commencement address. Dr. Moffett was appointed the seventh president of the UL System in July 2008. As UL system president, he oversees eight universities, including ULM, which combined with other universities serves approximately 80,000 students through a total operating budget of over $740 million.
Melissa Antoinette Keaster of Farmerville is the top graduate for the Fall 2008 class with a grade point average of 3.98. Keaster, who received a bachelor of music education, is married to Brandon Keaster and is the daughter of Arden and Melanie Chapman.
Several honor graduates were recognized during the ceremonies. They are designated as summa cum laude (3.900-4.000), magna cum laude (3.750-3.899) and cum laude (3.500-3.749).
