3 Eunice men accused of trying to steal boat

Three Eunice men ran into trouble Saturday when they were stopped from stealing a boat, St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office Lt. Clay Higgins said.
A complaint was called in at 6:24 p.m. and a deputy was dispatched by 6:26 p.m. to the 1100 block of La. 13 north., Higgins said.
Three minutes later -- by 6:39 p.m. -- the three would-be boat thieves had been arrested, Higgins said.
Eunice police was called to assist, but “by the time the deputy got there all three were in custody,” Higgins said.
One suspect was in the back of the patrol car, a second was handcuffed on the ground behind the patrol car and a third was by a Ford F-150 the suspects had been traveling in, he said.
Higgins identified the men arrested on charges of criminal trespass and theft as Michael Glen House, 31, of Eunice; Kevin Bernard Lucas, 25, of Eunice; and Louis Jackson McCall, 26, of Eunice.
“Basically, somebody that knew that boat wasn’t supposed to go anywhere caught someone red-handed trying to take it,” he said.
“What the complainant said was there are three white male subjects trying to take a relatives’s boat ... and they are throwing beer cans out of the truck,” Higgins said.
