3rd arrest made in Mamou Mardi Gras stabbing

A third arrest has been made in connection with a Mamou stabbing that occurred during Mardi Gras.
KATC-TV first reported the arrest on Wednesday.
On Friday, March 11, Clayton Joseph Arceneaux Jr., of Breaux Bridge, surrendered himself to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office. Arceneaux was booked on aggravated assault and disturbing the peace by fighting. He has since been released on a $5,000 bond.
Stacey Fontenot of Carencro was arrested on Feb. 11 for aggravated battery in connection with the stabbing. Valarie Mouton Thibeaux, also of Carencro, was later arrested on Feb. 19 for obstruction of justice.
Both have since been released on bond.
Mamou Police Chief Allen Noel has stated that the stabbing happened on Feb. 9 next to a crowded bandstand area during the town’s annual holiday celebration.
