Fontenot also tried to get fake prescription filled at Fred’s in Eunice, Brickley said.
Fontenot had left his son at the Maple Avenue Pharmacy with money to pay for the prescription, he said. When Fontenot returned to Maple Avenue Pharmacy, police units closed in, but Fontenot fled in a Honda CR-V, he said.
Fontenot’s vehicle went through a flower bed, over sidewalks and narrowly missed buildings on the campus before stopping in a parking lot, he said.

Carencro Police have issued a summons for Fontenot in connection with the theft of a prescription pad, he said.
The child was released to family members, he said.
