Sheriff: Estranged husband tries to run wife off road while children are in vehicle

An Opelousas man is accused of trying to run a vehicle carrying his wife and children off the road on U.S. 190 near Eunice.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said Joshua Keith Arclese, 23, of the 100 block of Elmwood Street, Opelousas, is charged with four counts of aggravated assault involving domestic violence involving children, aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
Guidroz said the wife, Darrian Guillory, said Arclese pulled next to her on U.S. 190 at a high rate of speed and began making aggressive moves towards her vehicle.  Guillory said that Arclese drove on her driver’s side and the passenger side acting as if he was trying to run her off the road at speeds of 80 miles an hour, Guidroz said.
Guillory having her three chiildren ages 5, 3, and 1 years old along with another female passenger inside the vehicle called Eunice Police to file complaint, he said.
Guillory stopped in the parking lot of a local country store and met with St. Landry Parish deputies, Guillory said.
Guillory said she felt that Arclese was trying to force her off the road coming within inches of her vehicle several times before he turned back towards Opelousas, Guidroz said.
A responding deputy observed Arclese sitting on the tailgate of his vehicle at a local store in the Lawtell area.  The deputy approached Arclese and asked him for his identification when he became defensive and refused to identify himself, Guidroz said.
A check on the registration of the truck confirmed that it was the suspect’s vehicle, he said. 
Deputies attempted to detain Arclese when he starting resisting and was subdued and arrested, Guidroz said.
