Unrestrained Eunice woman killed on U.S. 190 in single-vehicle wreck

A single-vehicle wreck on U.S. 190 near La. 758 claimed the life of Shinequia Anderson, 24, of Eunice, at 4:30 p.m. Friday, a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I stated.
Anderson and two passengers in the vehicle she was driving were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, the news release stated.
Anderson was driving a 2005 Ford Escape west on U.S. 190 when she ran off the right side of the highway, traveled through a ditch and collided with a culvert, the police report stated.
Anderson’s vehicle began to overturn and she was ejected, the report stated. Anderson was not wearing a seat belt suffered fatal injuries. the report added. Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative from the St. Landry Parish Coroner’s Office.
Keeya Shillow, 23, of Eunice, who was in the front passenger seat, and a juvenile in the rear seat were not wearing seat belts and sustained moderate injuries, police report. They sustained moderate injuries and were taken by AirMed to a local hospital for treatment, police report.
The police report stated it is not known if impairment is a factor in the crash. A toxicology sample was taken from Anderson and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis
