Bears face Patriots

The Church Point High Bears will take on the North Vermilion Patriots in the opening round of the Class 3A State Playoffs here Friday night. 
Church Point head coach J. C. Arceneaux will lead his fifth-seeded Bears against the 28-seeded Patriots after finishing with an overall record of 7-3.
Church Point ended the regular season with a 34-6 victory over the Ville Platte High Bulldogs. 
The Bears broke open a 6-0 contest with a 15-point second quarter. Frederick Williams had given the Bears the early lead with a one-yard run in the first quarter.
