Through the first four years, the Joe Nagata Memorial Jamboree has raised more than $175,000 for Eunice High and St. Edmund athletics.
PRAIRIE RONDE – The Eunice High Bobcats opened their District 5-3A contest against the Northwest High Raiders with a 7-play, 72-yard scoring drive to take a 7-0 lead.
It was a tale of two halves between District 5-1 rivals Catholic High of Pointe Coupee and St. Edmund Thursday night.
The visiting Hornets scored twice in the first quarter and the Blue Jays pushed across two touchdowns in the second half.
The battle for the District 5-3A title continues with a showdown between the Eunice Bobcats and the Northwest Raiders.
The Bobcats downed Northwest 56-25 en route to the 2015 district championship and the undefeated Raiders want a shot at earning the title this season.
The St. Edmund offense finally got on track with 514 total yards in the 31-28 win over False River Academy.
Through the first five games, the Blue Jays had scored 19 points and averaged 112 yards per game.
