Acadian Medical Center honored James “Jim” Dodd during a surprise retirement party Wednesday afternoon.
Dodd’s wife, Oliva, along with many of his co-workers and CEO Scott Smith, were among those in attendance for the event.
Dodd, a 41-year radiology technician at Acadian Medical Center, started his medical career in 1973 at Moosa Memorial Hospital.
CEO of Acadian Medical Center Scott Smith presented him with a retirement momento-trophy and added his comments about Dodd. “I appreciate Jim. I commend him for his work ethics, dedication and commitment at this hospital. You will be missed.”
Pat Fruge, director of radiology at AMC, added his appreciation of Dodd. “In his 41 years of service Jim has covered multiple modalities in Radiology, X-ray, CT, and ultrasound. Jim has always been a great Rad Tech and is a witness to truely see how the field of radiology has changed over the years.”
Dodd, married for 44 years to Oliva Dodd, is the father of three children: Corey Dodd of Petaluma, California; Marcus Dodd of Opelousas; and London Dodd Vidrine of Westlake. He is the grandfather of 12.
Dodd plans to enjoy retirement by golfing, watching golf on TV as much as he can, and traveling on his motorcycle.
