Rebecca Berzas, Agriscience Teacher at Eunice High School, asked her Agriscience I classes to take a survey... and added, “No.. this is NOT for a test grade.”
Baltakis, director of KEB Anti-Litter campaign for the city, met recently with Principal Mitch Fontenot at Eunice High to carry out a survey of students to see what their thoughts are about Keeping Louisiana and Eunice beautifulLitter free.
Baltakis was recently notified that the city of Eunice is one of only 6 towns in the state chosen to participate in the Keep Louisiana Beautiful Student Litter Survey.
Baltakis presented the listing of 21 different questions on “Keep Lousiiana Beautiful Litter questionaire” survey in hopes of having at least 100 students to answer and get their opionions on litter.
Baltakis said, “I am hoping for 100 students to take the survey, answer the questions. Its about what their attitudes are on litter, what would it take to stop littering, and much more.”
Berzas had two of her classes, Agriscience I & II, answer the 21-question Litter survey.
Some of the survey questions on the form included:
“Would you say that litter is a not a problem, somewhat of a problem, or a serious problem?
“If you have littered in the past month, what would it take to keep you from doing that again?”
“What is the main reason why you don’t litter?
“In your opinion, should law enforcement agencies be doing more than they are now to enforce litter laws?
“Is recycling available at your school?”
Berzas addressed the campaign survey to her students and explained what was required, “You remain annoymous. Answer each question on survey sheet honestly. This is helpful to KEB Anti-Litter Campaign and at the same time helps to keep our campus litter free.”
