Papillion named Student of the Year at Eunice High School

Jailyn Papillion

Jailyn Papillion is Eunice High School’s Student of the Year.
Student of the Year at Eunice High is selected by a committee that takes into account the student’s level of activity in school and the community. The students also has to meet a requirement of 3.5 cumulative GPA, a minimum of a 25 ACT score and must be enrolled in the honors program.
Papillion, a senior, fits the “bill” of Student of the Year, as she is a member of FBLA, Pay It Forward Club, and currently serves as treasurer of the Student Council.
In addition, Papillion is an ACT 22+Club member with a score of 25. She is a member of the National Honors Society.
Papillion is a football trainer for the Bobcats.
During her junior year, Papillion was voted class favorite, received the Outstanding Junior award and was selected as the Louisiana Girls State delegate.
During homecoming week festivities in October, Papillion was named to the Homecoming Court.
Principal Mitch Fontenot is pleased with this year selection of Student of the Year.
“Jailyn is an excellent representative of Eunice High School. She is the ultimate student and a fantastic person,” he said.
“She truly represents what is good and right with this generation of students. I am proud to have Jailyn represent Eunice High School as Student of the Year for 2015-16,” he said.
At home, Papillion enjoys reading, exercising and spending quality time with friends and family.
She is an active member at Holy Family Church in Lawtell.
Papillion is the daughter of Jimmy and Annetta Papillion.
