Symposium on The Dignity of Man at St. Thomas More Catholic Church
St. Thomas More Church in Eunice will host a “Symposium on The Dignity of Man” Friday, June 19 - Sunday, June 21.
The Symposium begins Friday at 5:30 p.m. with a “Red Mass” in church, in honor of all legal and political professionals.
A Mass, “St. Thomas More, Champion of the Humane,” by Rev. Clinton Sensat, will be at 6:30 p.m.
At 9 a.m., first panel, on Saturday, there will be representatives of the Eunice Ministerial Alliance with a message, “Man, The Image of God-Theologies of the Human.”
At 11 a.m. there will be a Eucharistic Holy Hour of Supplication for the Parish.
At 1 p.m.. a second panel, will include “Faces of Adam: Humanity in Art, Law & Religion with speakers: Honorable Eunice City Judge Terry Hoychick, Michele Richard, artist at Niche Art Gallery, Allen Higginbotham, an actor with Acadiana Repertory Theatre, Rev. Clinton Sensat, pastor at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, all moderated by Dr. Michael Alleman, assistant professor of English at LSU Eunice.
From 6 to 9 p.m. there will be an Experience of the Humane: Displays of the Plastic Arts from Niche Gallery, Literary & other vocal submission, read by numerous guests, The Poetry of Dr. Maura Cavell, read by the poet herself.
On June 21, there will be a 10 a.m. Mass (Solemn High Mass) in honor of St. Thomas More. (light hors d’oeuvres will be served). At 11:30 a.m., there will be a family fun day, with special activities for Dads. Lunch will be catered.
