The Acadian Baptist Center hosted its yearly Mardi Gras Alternative Retreat for youth on Feb. 8-9 with 38 attending. Led by the Rev. Travis Turner, pastor of North Eunice Baptist Church, the youth participated in Bible study, music, and fun activities.
Eunice Elementary held its annual Mardi Gras parade last Friday before the holiday. Parents, family, friends and neighbors were invited to attend and watch the children parade along the boulevard in front of Eunice Junior High School and circle the block.
The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at 6 p.m. will present performances by Sunpie & The LA Sun Spots and The Bruce Daigrepont Cajun Band with special music by guest Michael Doucet.
Admission $5. Ticket window opens at 4 p.m.
Mid-term grades are in at Word Ministries Christian Academy and students earning all A’s (Gold Award) and students earning all A’s & B’s (Silver Award) were honored and recognized during the school’s award ceremony.
