Central Middle School welcomed local author Ashley Moffett for a day-long visit with sixth grade students. Moffett wrote a book entitled “The Orphans,” which depicts the tale of a Cyclops, and elf, and a girl who wouldn’t go away.

Third grade students at East Elementary were treated and entertained with Cajun Music by Jo Jo Reed as part of their Mardi Gras Social Studies unit and activities. Students also created Mardi Gras floats and ate King Cake.

Eunice High seniors Heidi Pitre, left, Layni Trosclair, Lauren Vidrine, Kylie Miller and Pierre Martel, teacher-sponsor, in front, will host their Senior Project with Litter Awareness as their focal point. The seniors will hold a Trash-A-Thon Saturday, Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. until noon.

Several Eunice elementary schools and area St. Landry Parish school students arrived at Eunice High School gymnasium Thursday, Feb. 12 to see Hoops and Stunts and hear motivational speakers from the Harlem Ambassadors.
