Kandance Vallot, is a first-year teacher at Highland Elementary. Vallot from Carencro, will teach first grade at the elementary campus. Vallot moved back to her hometown of Carencro two-months ago from a year-stay overseas in Taiwan.

The Junior Auxiliary of Eunice recently held a book drive collection to give to Highland Elementary’s library. A delivery of five large of boxes of pre-k through fourth-grade reading books was donated at Highland recently.
On Aug. 9 St. Edmund Catholic School students, parents and faculty celebrated the start of a new school year with a Back to School Bash. Students and parents participated in a meet and greet with faculty. Students were treated to face painting. The event concluded with the Lady Jays Throw Down.
