StoryTime reading officially began Wednesday at the Eunice Public Library. Guest reader was Bobbie Bordelon, children’s librarian. Bordelon read, “Wallie Exercises,” by Steve Ellinger. Children also enjoyed making a craft, an exercise wind runner and ate a snack Fruit Gummy snacks.
The Eunice High School Class of 1956 held its 60th class reunion on May 28 at the Eunice Developmental Center. Those in attendance, were, front, from left, Sylvia Martel Boyér, Ursula Jean Fisher Carrier and E.W.
Austin Jones, a pre-k student at East Elementary, won a raffle drawing sponsored by the Eunice Fire Department, and had the opportunity and privilege to ride to school inside the fire truck. A firefighter picked him up from his home and drove him to school.
St. Edmund Elementary recently held its Accelerated Reader Awards ceremony. Certificates were given to students for showing growth in reading skills. Students were also presented medals for high word count.
Eunice public schools will open for first day of school on Aug. 11.
