Glendale Elementary lists its perfect attendance for fifth six weeks.
Students are listed below.
First Baptist Church in Eunice is holding its Vacation Bible School this week, ending Friday. The theme is, “Submerged, Finding the Truth below the Surface. Psalm 139: 23-24.” Children, kindergarten through sixth-grades, enjoyed Bible songs, stories, activities, crafts, outdoor games and snacks.
VFW Post 8971 Quartermaster Roger Veillon presented a $1,000 scholarship to Victoria McGee, valedictorian at St. Edmund High School. McGee was also the 2016 winner of the Voice of Democracy program sponsored by the post. (Submitted Photo)

PINEVILLE – In preparation of summer, Cleco is donating nearly 700 fans to councils on aging and other agencies across the state to help seniors stay cool and manage their electric bills.
East Elementary students in Vanessa Cormier’s fourth-grade class received their Accelerated Reading awards and ribbons for the fifth sixth-weeks of school period. From left, are Landon Rougeau, Adam Thibodeaux, both earned 25 points; and Caleb David earned 75 reading points.
