2014 Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off Winners named

First Place, Showmanship/Booth Decoration Divison, Club/Organization Category, Chataignier Supper Club

First Place, Showmanship/Booth Decoration, Amateur Category, Double Action Sports

On Sunday, with sunny spring-like temperatures...the aroma of crawfish etouffees cooking, live bands playing, arts and crafts booths, and much more, drew a large crowd to Eunice’s 29th Annual World Championship Crawfish Etouffee Cook-Off.
Over 30 teams, including amateur, professional, clubs and organizations entered in divisions. Teams cooked their ‘favorite and secret’ crawfish etouffee recipes for public’s sampling, professional judges judging, and to 'vy for a first, or second place trophy.'
Winners of the 2014 Crawfish Etouffee Cookoff included:
Cooking Division (Amateur), Randy Fontenot for Chief of Police-first place
Elect Paul Brown for City Court Judge-second place; and third place: The Care Bugs (Eunice Extended Care Hospital)
Cooking Division (Professional) LAS -first place; and CLECO-second place
Cooking Division (Club/Organization) Acadian Medical Center-first place and The Homesteaders (St. Landry Homestead) second place.
The Showmanship/Booth Decoration division included Club/Organization and Amateur divisions.
In the Club/Organization, Chataignier Supper Club, first place; and The Homesteaders won second place.
In the Amateur category, Double Action Sports took home first place, and Peace, Love & Tails (Eunice Manor) placed second.
Winning People’s Choice Award, voted by the people, was Ardoin’s Funeral Home.
