Bills signed into law by Gov. Edwards

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced Wednesday that he signed the following bills into law:

ACT 266 – SB 30: Authorizes the exchange of land between the Department of Agriculture and Forestry and the Cooper Cemetery Association in Beauregard Parish

ACT 267 – SB 70: Prohibits sex offenders from soliciting business door to door

ACT 268 – SB 73: Provides for the crime of resisting an officer when one knowingly interferes with a police cordon

ACT 269 – SB 90: Expands crime of human trafficking to specific elements regarding trafficking of persons under the age of twenty-one engaged in commercial sexual activity

ACT 270 – SB 106: Specifies when a short-form birth certificate card may be purchased

ACT 271 – SB 183: Provides relative to the State Board of Cosmetology

ACT 272 – SB 219: Provides relative to the distribution of forfeitures of criminal bail bonds

ACT 273 – SB 287: Provides for the revocation of P.O.S.T. certification for peace officers convicted of malfeasance in office

ACT 274 – HB 184: Requires provision of certain claims information to insureds

ACT 275 – HB 195: Provides relative to transmittal of certain notices required pursuant to medical malpractice law

ACT 276 – HB 303: Requires successful completion of an oyster harvester education program prior to applying for an oyster harvester license

ACT 277 – HB 465: Provides for certain fees collected by the office of conservation

ACT 278 – HB 476: Specifies that insurance producers may not be required to provide certain information regarding insurance coverage

ACT 279 – HB 591: Permits vehicles operated by engines fueled wholly or partially with compressed or liquefied natural gas to exceed gross vehicle weight limits and axle weight limits

ACT 280 – HB 728: Provides with respect to the procedures and requirements for obtaining consent of the legislature for certain acts of the interim emergency board

ACT 281 – HB 890: Makes revisions to the La. Election Code issuers
