Bishop Jarrell announces appointments, changes

Bishop Michel Jarrell

Bishop Michael Jarrell of the Diocese of Lafayette has released the following appointments and changes, to be effective according to the dates indicated below:
Effective July 1:
The Rev. Brian Garry, SJ, is appointed Associate Pastor of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish in Grand Coteau.
The Rev. Nicholas T. Schiro, SJ, is assigned to the Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez Pavilion in Grand Coteau and will be available for limited ministry.
The Rev. Joseph A. Tetlow, SJ, will be joining the staff as a retreat director at Our Lady of the Oaks Retreat House in Grand Coteau.
Effective July 6:
Very Reverend Monsignor W. Curtis Mallet, JCL, is appointed to the Office of Pastor of
Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Scott for a term of six years. This appointment is in addition to his current assignments and responsibilities.
The Rev. Thomas Voorhies is appointed to the Office of Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Ville Platte, its mission (Sacred Heart in Belaire Cove), and Saint Joseph Parish in Ville Platte, for a term of six years.
Effective July 20:
The Rev. Jason Vidrine is appointed to the Office of Pastor of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in Krotz Springs for a term of six years.
The Rev. Chanh Nguyen is taking a leave of absence from priestly ministry and has resigned as administrator of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Krotz Springs. He is an incardinated priest of the Diocese of Bac Ninh, Vietnam. Nonetheless, he plans to continue residence in the Diocese of Lafayette. It should be clear that effective on the same date, he is excluded from the exercise of priestly ministry of any kind in the Diocese of Lafayette.
