Bishop Michael Jarrell’s Thanksgiving Message

Bishop Michael Jarrell of the Diocese of Lafayette

Bishop Michael Jarrell of the Diocese of Lafayette issued the following 2015 Thanksgiving message.
“In 1789, President George Washington proclaimed a national day of thanksgiving so that all citizens might give thanks to God of his many and signal favors. On this day we thank God for his blessing upon our nation — gifts of peace, of prosperity, and of course, our freedoms. When we say, ‘God Bless America,’ we do so with faith in a merciful and generous God. Let us continue to ask his blessings upon all in our land, especially upon the poor, the elderly and the sick. Let us ask him to help us to live up to our ideals so that all in our land may enjoy God’s gifts.”
I’m Bishop Michael Jarrell and I wish you peace on this blessed day.
