Crawfish producer meeting set for Oct. 18

Aquaculture experts from the LSU AgCenter will speak at a meeting for crawfish producers on Oct. 18.
The session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Toups Crawfish, 3695 Basile-Eunice Highway, Basile, Louisiana.
AgCenter aquaculture specialist Greg Lutz will talk about the crawfish life history and provide an overview of the industry.
AgCenter researcher Ray McClain will talk about the effects of the recent flooding on water quality and forage management.
LSU AgCenter and Louisiana Sea Grant coastal resource agent Mark Shirley will cover pond management, harvesting practices and field observations of white spot disease and pesticide contamination.
