Eula Street gunfire probe continuing

Detectives are investigating an apparent series of shots fired at a Eula Street residence last Wednesday night.
Suspects detained at some points during the night included adults and juveniles, records indicate.
Shortly after 11 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Eula said shots had been fired at his house.
Responding officers found two bullet holes in the house’s exterior.
While that was going on, other units went to a house in the 300 block of Eisenhower, and then to a residences in the 300 block of West Dudley.
The houses are within shooting, make that shouting, distance of each other.
Records indicate officers found a .45-caliber casing on Eula Street, as well as five .40-caliber cartridges in the roadway.
By 11:45 p.m., a suspect was being detained on West Dudley and another being sought.
He was seen walking with three others and at midnight ran into an alley on West Dudley.
Meanwhile officers over on Eula were reporting a total of five casings and two slugs at that site.
About the same time, records indicate police entered a shed, where, records indicate, evidence was found and photos taken.
About 10 minutes later, the suspect who had fled in the alley was located and detained.
At 12:26 a.m., records indicate offices went to a residence in the 1800 block of Athabaska and located a bicycle. They also talked with two juveniles, releasing them to their mothers.
What role, if any, the bicycle played in the gunfire, is not yet known as detectives continue to sort out the players and the circumstances.
