The Eunice News reported that Donna Waterbury and Celeste Gomez “are apparently the first in Eunice to set up a site on the web.” Also mentioned was Ron Harris, a computer expert, who was the “webmeister.”
Auctioneers for the annual Eunice Jaycee auction were Gerard Caswell, Mike Johnson and Todd Ortego. Jaycee members were pictured with some of the auction items. They were Joe Fontenot, auction chairman; James Wallett, Jaycee president; and Lisa Schneider, Jaycee member.
Glendale students participated in a Violence Prevention Month event. There were Katie Henry, Josh Ashford, Caroline Fontenot, Janice Stout, Lynda Perrodin, Brandi Johnson, Joseph Orebeaux and Dolores Thibodeaux.
Judge Preston Aucoin ruled the St. Landry Parish Police Jury must pay the parish coroner and provide the office a budget. Coroner-elect David Carrier sued the Police Jury.
T. J. Landreneau led the Bobcats to a 3-2 win over Leesville. The win improved the Eunice High season to 10-6.
St. Edmund’s Andre Feucht placed third overall out of 27 golfers in the Allen Parish Golf Invitational. The gold team was in its first year.
Sonni Manuel ended her year as 1995 Miss Etouffee. She was the daughter of Rebel and Gene Manuel and a senior at St. Edmund.
Harland Guillory, associate professor of biology, and Renee Robichaux, instructor in biology, were included in the 1996 edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Both were on the LSUE faculty.
