Eunice ordinance to be updated to delete reference to ‘hog pens’

An ordinance update to remove a reference to “hog pens” is the subject of a public hearing by the Eunice Board of Aldermen at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Municipal Complex.
The ordinance is about property owners maintaining property and includes references to “stables, chicken coops, dog kennels, pens of different pets,” but will not longer include “hog pens.”
The amended ordnance will be up for adoption at the meeting, which starts at 6:30 p.m.
Other items on the agenda, as of Thursday, included promotion of the 31st Annual World Championship Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off on March 20 and Recreation Department softball and baseball registration.
An announcement for the bid opening for the city’s street improvement project scheduled at 10 a.m. March 22, is also on the agenda.
