Governor signs bills
Gov. John Bel Edwards announced on May 26 that he signed the following bills into law:
ACT 181 – HB 55: Provides for the dismissal of certain criminal charges upon completion of the Veterans Court program
ACT 182 – HB 610: Prohibits the inclusion of the value of certain federal tax credits and special financing provisions when determining the fair market value of certain property for purposes of tax assessment
ACT 183 – HB 951: Provides for the close of registration records
ACT 184 – HB 953: Amends the provisions of law regarding hate crimes
ACT 185 – HB 988: Provides relative to Louisiana Military Family Assistance
ACT 186 – SB 21: Extends legislative authority for the Louisiana Obesity Prevention and Management Commission
ACT 187 – SB 40: Re-creates the income tax checkoff donation for Friends of Palmetto Island State Park
ACT 188 – SB 45: Designates the interchange of I-10 (Exit 54) with LA 99 in Welsh, LA, as the "SP4 Donald C. Gillett Memorial Interchange" and a portion of LA 14 on Abbeville, LA as a Blue Star Memorial Highway
ACT 189 – SB 56: Provides for retention, archiving, and destruction of records in the state prescription monitoring program
ACT 190 – SB 72: Authorizes private employers to provide employment preferences for veterans
ACT 191 – SB 142: Authorizes the commissioner of administration to transfer certain state property in Webster Parish
ACT 192 – SB 189: Provides for pharmacist dispensing exceptions
ACT 193 – SB 375: Provides relative to enforcement of provisions prohibiting certain fraudulent insurance acts
ACT 194 – SB 389: Creates "100% DAV" military honor license plate
ACT 195 – SB 414: Provides for the application of a premium, if any, in connection with the issuance of bonds
