Baton Rouge, La. --
The Louisiana House of Representatives unanimously passed a bill giving Louisiana schools districts the authority to require that one coach in each of the sports offered at high schools be certified in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation.
“The desire is to have one coach for each sport trained,” said Rep. Marcus Hunter, D-Monroe, author of House Bill 868. “What we are doing is allowing the schools to decide how they want to do this.”
The bill was sent to the Senate for consideration. – D.B. Narveson
