JD Bank has donated $15,000 to Louisiana State University Eunice.
The sum will be divided evenly among three of the university’s departments to support academic achievement, community service and athleticism.
As a part of the donation, JD Bank has launched an annual scholarship for five students, one from each parish the bank serves – Calcasieu, Allen, Jeff Davis, St. Landry and Evangeline. The students will be selected by LSU Eunice’s scholarship committee and will be awarded $500 each semester.
Additionally, the remaining donation funds will benefit initiatives of the LSU Eunice community service program and Bengal Athletics.
“As an institution that serves many of the same communities we do, the relationship with LSUE is a natural fit,” Boyd Boudreaux, JD Bank president and CEO said. “JD Bank is committed to supporting the interests of our customers and growing our relationships in the community.”
The donation will be delivered in $5,000 increments through 2014.
