Lafayette police issue parking, street closing advisory

For Festival International beginning Wednesday

Festival International de Louisiane begins Wednesday and continues through Sunday.
Lafayette police announced that for security and safety reasons, some restriction for parking along Jefferson Street will be imposed during dates and times noted.
On Wednesday, there will be “No Parking” from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Thursday on Jefferson Street between Lee Avenue and Main Street.
On Thursday, barricades will be placed along Jefferson Street and there will be “No Parking” between Johnston and Cypress streets. The barricades will remain in place through 10 p.m. Sunday.
In addition to parking regulations, Lafayette police remind festival goers that it is illegal to have glass containers in public and all animals must be on a leash.
