LSUE fall enrollment is up 15.9%

Enrollment is up 15.9 percent for the fall semester at Louisiana State University Eunice over the fall of 2015, according to final regular fall semester enrollment figures released by the university’s registrar’s office.
Enrollment is at 2,906 students.
LSU Eunice Chancellor Kimberly Russell said, “LSUE is committed to providing greater access to quality higher education in Southwest Louisiana, and I’m so pleased to welcome one of the largest freshman classes in our history.”
LSUE’s freshman class increased by 21.7 percent over fall 2015 and is the largest freshman class in five years. LSU Eunice’s largest freshman class was 2,236 in 2010.
“Thanks to all of our administrators, faculty, and staff for their dedication to LSUE,” said Russell. “We are focused on meeting the needs of Louisiana’s employers to prepare these future LSUE graduates for high demand jobs in health care, business and technology fields or to transfer to a four-year university.”
LSU Eunice reported having 531 sophomores (30 plus credit hours) and 434 unclassified students, which include students with more than 60 credits.
Students from 44 parishes are enrolled in LSU Eunice classes, including off-campus classes. Parishes with 20 or more students attending the university this fall are: St. Landry, 811; Acadia, 582; Evangeline, 334; Lafayette, 284; Rapides, 131; Vermilion, 114; St. Martin, 83; East Baton Rouge, 81; Allen, 61; Avoyelles, 61; Jeff Davis, 58; Iberia, 50; Calcasieu, 47; and St. Tammany, 20.
LSU Eunice, bolstered by the new LSU Pathways program, has 55 students enrolled for the fall semester. The 55 students is the largest group of out-of-staters in LSUE history.
LSU Eunice has 1,388 full-time students (those students carrying academic loads of 12 semester hours or more) and 1,518 part-time students.
There are 496 dual enrollment students enrolled with LSUE. Dual enrollment students are high school students taking LSUE classes on their campus. LSU Eunice saw a 78 percent increase in dual enrollment students this fall.
