LSUE, LSUA sign articulation agreement

LSUE and LSUA officials sign an articulation agreement.
LSU Eunice and LSU of Alexandria have reached an agreement allowing students in certain 2+2 programs to transfer seamlessly between the two institutions.
This 2+2 agreement allows students who earn an associate’s degree at LSUE in three selected programs to complete the related bachelor degree at LSUA.  The LSUE programs include an Associate of Science in Nursing (RN), Associate of Science in Management and Associate of Science in Criminal Justice. 
Students who choose to continue their education in nursing at LSUA will enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) program. 
Those who earn an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice may pursue a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from LSUA.
However, LSUE students who earn an Associate of Applied Science in Management will have two choices in continuing their education.  These students will be able to choose between a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Elder Care Management from LSUA.
Additionally, LSUE graduates will not need to relocate to finish their bachelor degree.  The selected LSUA programs associated with this agreement will be offered 100% online.  
“With these two exciting collaborations, LSU Eunice and LSU of Alexandria are providing accommodating mechanisms for students to either initiate and/or complete their undergraduate education at their own home campus,” said LSU Eunice Chancellor William Nunez.  “In doing so, we are enhancing both the number of Louisianan’s with college degrees, as well as, the economic opportunities which these credentials provide – all while meeting the local workforce needs.”
This agreement will also alleviate any fears that earned hours will not transfer toward the additional degree.
“With the articulation agreements in place, students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree will know how the courses that they are taking for the associate degree at LSUE will count toward their degree at LSUA,” says LSUA Provost and Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Barbara Hatfield.
If a student decides to pursue a bachelor’s degree, twenty-five percent of the degree’s requirements must be completed through the LSUA program in order for LSUA to confer the degree.
In order to be eligible, students must complete the selected associate degree from LSUE and meet the bachelor’s program admission requirements set forth by LSUA.
