Mamou man charged after wreck (updated)

A single vehicle wreck on U.S. 90 in front of the Plaza Acadian Shopping Center resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old Mamou man, Eunice police report. A black truck traveled off the road at about 11:30 a.m.  Thursday coming to rest between the poles of the shopping center’s sign. The incident started when there was a report of man passed out at the wheel of a truck at 12th Street and U.S. 190, police said. The truck left that scene only to crash. Police arrested Timothy Stelly, 32, 716 Third St., Mamou for no driver’s license, driving while intoxicated first offense, and possession of marijuana. Stelly also was treated and released from Acadian Medical Center.
