Fish Fry dinners at St. Mathilda
The St. Mathilda Church Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor fish-dinner fundraiser plate lunches from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. every Friday at the Bishop Ceaser Center.
A donation of $8 will be accepted.
Lenten Fish dinner will not be served on Good Friday.

OLLI at LSU Eunice AARP Smart Drivers
The Cajun Prairie Chapter of OLLI is presenting an AARP Smart Drivers Course.
The course will be held on the LSUE campus in the Continuing Education Bldg. room #117. on March 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Refresh your defensive driving skills, review traffic laws and rules of the road using proven safety strategies as well as have the opportunity to perhaps receive a multi-year discount on your insurance. No test to pass.
Cost of the class is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.
OLLI members will also receive a $5 discount.

Catholic Daughters meeting set Tuesday
Court Eunice 208 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas will hold its monthly meeting, on Monday at the Jeanmard Hall.

Kajun Belles will sponsor pageant March 12
Kajun Belles Pageants will present Eunice Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off Pageant on March 12 at Richard Elementary School gymnasium, located at 1616 Charlene Hwy., Church Point.
Contestants of all ages, from Infant to 6 months to Miss, 19 years and over, will be considered entries.

Allegro String Quintet at LSU Eunice
The Allegro String Quintet, whose members are musicians with the Eunice Symphony will present “A Little Night Music” as part of LSUE Performing Arts sereies at 6:30 p.m. Monday inside the auditorium of the Health Tech building (nurses building) on LSUE campus.
Tickets are free to students and $3 for general admission. Tickets are available at the door.
ABC host couples retreat March 11-12
Acadian Baptist Center in Richard will host a Couples’ Retreat on March 11 to 12.
The retreat will be led by Kevin Richard, associate pastor of counseling at Trinity Counseling Center in Lake Charles. Richard has a bachelor of arts degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a master of arts degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. Richard is also a licensed professional counselor.

EHS FFA activities set for March 12
Eunice High FFA members will hold a day of activities, an auction, train rides, chicken bingo, chickenrun, live music, 5K fun run/walk on March 12 at 9 a.m with the 5K Run/Walk.
All proceeds will benefit Eunice High FFA chapter.
Gerard Delafose & the Zydeco Gators will perform from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Late registration for the 5K Fun RunWalk will be available on the day beginning at 8 a.m.

Ushers Appreciation at Greater True Light
The Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice invites area ushers from surrounding churches to its ninth annual Usher’s Appreciation mini workshop and fellowship program on at 10 a.m. March 12.
Ushers are invited to attend annual Usher’s Appreciation Day service with an annual Ushers March on Sunday, March 13 during the church’s 8:30 a.m. service.

Genealogical Society to meet March 17
Lafayette Genealogical Society monthly meeting on Thursday, March 17 at the Lafayette South Regional Library, 6101 Johnston Street beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Guest speaker is Suzanne Breaux who will present a documentary film, “Coton Jaune” (Yellow Cotton).

ABC host Women’s Retreat March 18-19
The Acadian Baptist Center near Richard will hold a Women’s Retreat on March 18 to 19. Speaker will be Kathy Nelson of Ruston.
Nelson has been ministering to college students for 25 years and is an author, bible teacher, and speaker at retreats and conferences. Music will be provided by Katy James.
Cost for this event is $80, including meals and lodging; $45 for commuters, including meals.

EHS baseball team to host baseball camp
The Eunice High School Bobcat baseball team will host an Easter baseball camp on March 28-29 at the EHS baseball field.
The camp is designed to teach and develop the fundamentals of baseball, including proper throwing, hitting, fielding, and base running techniques.
The camp is designed for ages 8-13 and will be held from 10 am to 1 pm.
Pick up registration forms from any EHS baseball player or at any EHS home baseball game at the concession stand.

Pre-registration deadline is March 20.
OLLI at LSU Eunice host history buff
On April 7 inside the Continuing Education Building Room 117, the Cajun Prairie Chapter of OLLI at LSUE will welcome history buff John Reed of Eunice.
Reed will give a talk on Civil War battles beginning at 2 p.m.
Coffee will be served. The event is free.
VFW bingo held Thursdays, Sundays
The VFW Post 8971 holds bingo for the public at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday at the VFW Hall located on U.S. 190 East. All proceeds from Bingo games goes back to the community.
Evangeline Parish adult education classes
The Evangeline Parish adult education classes will be offered from 5 to 8 p.m. every Monday at the Basile police station.

Create Art at Art House - Saturdays
The Eunice Community Art House is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays for anyone wanting to come in and work with their own materials.

Knights of Columbus sells white crosses
The Eunice Knights of Columbus Council 1745 is currently selling white crosses to be placed in yards.
The crosses are available from Bill Parrie at 251 N. 6th St., or at Bertrand’s Printing, or in front of St. Anthony Church after each morning Mass at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., and 11 a.m.
A $5 donation is requested.
