Walter Lee, longtime Evangeline Parish clerk of court, dies

Former Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court Walter Lee died Sunday.
Lee served as clerk of court from 1956 to 2012.
He was 93 years old. Lee was born Sept. 9, 1921.

POINT BLUE - Funeral services for Mr. Walter Lee Sr., 93, will be held (pending) Wednesday April 15, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Mr. Walter Lee Sr., was well known to many for the 56 years he was Clerk of Court for Evangeline Parish. In 2009, he was inducted into the Louisiana Political Hall of Fame. He proudly served in the US NAVY during WWII and was stationed in San Diego, where he lived off base in his own apartment that he loved very much. He had many talents, making is own violin out of a cigar box, taught himself how to play the cajun fiddle, and played with the Balfa brothers. He had a great love for animals and farming, and served as king for many regional area festivals.
He will be deeply missed by many and forever remembered by his sons Walter Lee Jr. and wife Judge Judy Fuller of Lafayette, Mike Lee and wife Sue of Point Blue; grandchildren Eric, Yvette, Chad, Holly, Marty, Jennifer, Bree, Chad, and Jonathan; many great grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Taeogne and Agelia Chapman Lee; wife Florence Lee; daughter Nona Lee; brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday April14, 2015 from 10AM-9PM with a rosary being recited at (pending), and will resume again Wednesday April 15, 2015 at 8AM.
